Budyong Beach Resort is located in Sta. Fe, Bantayan Island, north of Cebu. To get there requires a four-hour bus ride and ferry ride to the island. Room accommodations are reasonably priced. We stayed in a family room that is just a few steps from the beach. The room was huge, with three beds. Bathroom was well-maintained. It was clean and the aircon was clean as well.
Note that rooms do not come with breakfast. However, there is a restaurant that serves breakfast for about PhP 80.00. The resort is centrally located near a church, public market, restaurants, coffee shops and bars.
The staff is helpful and accommodating. This resort badly took a hit after typhoon Yolanda and is still undergoing much renovations. Hopefully, it can be brought back to its former glory.
Despite the simple accommodations, the beach certainly makes up for it. In the water while swimming near the shallow area, we saw a crab, an octopus, and schools of fish. This place is not inundated with tourists and has preserved its marine life. Just, beautiful.
